About the Business Law Section and the Business Law Institute

The Business Law Section is one of the oldest and largest of the two dozen or so specialty groups within the Michigan State Bar, with over 3,300 members.  

The 2026 Business Law Institute is a one-day program from 9:00am-5:15pm and is comprised of seven or eight substantive presentations on current topics of interest in business law. Included throughout the day are several networking breaks, lunch, a reception and dinner event—all providing great opportunities for sponsors to interact with attendees.  

Over 100 Michigan business lawyers attend the Institute—typically a mix of lawyers from large and small private firms, as well as in-house counsel. Attendees practice in all facets of business law including commercial litigation, public company lawyers and those who concentrate on closely held businesses, and those who represent major financial institutions.

The Business Law Section is offering the opportunity to select organizations to get their message in front of Institute attendees.
